Myers-Briggs Type Indicator assessment

Introducing the support and services available from Acas

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is one of the most popular personality assessment. It uses a constructive and flexible framework to understand individual strengths and differences and can be applied to all areas of human interaction and personal development.

It is an excellent way of mapping and understanding individual personality types which can influence workplace behaviours and the dynamics of teams.

Combining unrivalled employment relations experience, Acas MBTI trained Advisers are able to work with employers to apply MBTI, to understand and work with the results.

Why use MBTI?

MBTI has many practical applications and can be particularly valuable in the following areas:

  • Change management
  • Coaching, communication
  • Conflict management
  • Decision-making
  • Emotional intelligence
  • Leadership development
  • Team building and development
  • Understanding stress reactions
  • Valuing diversity

The assessment helps teams and individuals recognise their different personality types and preferences. It can enhance both individual and team performance and it can help employers drive sustainable organisational efficiency.

MBTI can help increase productivity and improve the overall quality of working life for employees throughout an organisation.

What does MBTI and Acas support involve?

MBTI is voluntary. Individuals that take part are required to complete a short online questionnaire that will generate their individual personality type report.

For individuals, our MBTI trained Advisers can arrange to deliver one to one feedback.

For teams, feedback can be delivered through a group session, allowing individuals the opportunity to share their preferences with the team, learn how different personality types interact with each other and understand how it can lead to improved working relationships and productivity.
