Acas response to Government's consultation on Sexual Harassment in the Workplace

The Government has announced a consultation on sexual harassment in the workplace today. The Government Equalities Office (GEO)'s consultation aims to gather evidence about whether the current laws on protecting people from sexual harassment in the workplace are effective. Acas' response is included below:

Acas Head of Diversity, Julie Dennis, said:

"Sexual harassment at work is totally unacceptable and there must be zero tolerance towards it within our workplaces. We welcome this consultation, which looks at whether the law in this area can be further strengthened.

"Acas has some free advice that can help people identify sexual harassment at work with tips on how to handle and report it."
